Dorene's Easy Peach Cobbler / Dorene Stamper

INGREDIENTS:
2 1/2 cups sliced peaches
2/3 cup sugar
3 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 cup biscuit mix
2 tablespoon butter
1/3 cup milk
Sprinkle of cinnamon and sugar (optional)

PREPARATION:
Combine peaches and 1/3 cup sugar. Add water to make 3 1/2 cups. Put peaches, butter and lemon juice in a 10-inch skillet. Cover and cook over medium heat until simmering. Combine biscuit mix and 1/3 cup sugar. Cut in 2 tablespoons butter to coarse crumbs. Add milk to make soft dough. Spoon over hot fruit. Cover and cook about 12-15 minutes, until dough is done. Sprinkle with a mixture of sugar and cinnamon, if desired.
