| Quick Caramel For Ice Cream / Dorene Stamper |
|
From Dorene Stamper Dear Golden; After my Sunday dinner I decided I would like to have a nice caramel ice cream sundae, but I didn't have any caramel to do this with. So I went into the kitchen and whipped this up.....AND IT WORKED!!! Enough for two medium dishes of ice cream: 2 Tablespoons of Real Butter ½ Cup Brown Sugar... packed 1/3 Cup Vanilla Ice Cream. I doubt if it will work using Chocolate ice cream, but if this is all you have on hand give it a try. Just let me know how it comes out, okay? Bring to a boil and stir to keep from burning. Cook for about one minute or more and serve on top your favorite ice cream. It will be thick and creamy once you pour it hot on top of the ice cream. And oh my gosh is it ever good. :o) I think if you wanted the caramel to be thick enough to stay on an apple you would just have to boil it a little longer. I'm going to kick back, watch a good movie and enjoy my Sundae and my Sunday. :o) Love you much, Dorene ![]() |
