21731. Joshua Stamper, son of Jonathan Stamper and Rachel Parks, was born in 1753 in Amherst Co, VA and died after 13 Jul 1822 in Clark Co, KY.

General Notes: served in Rev.War.; Court Declaration in 1805 stated Joshua was in Boo ne sb orough in 1780 and resided at Strodes Station from 1780 to 1784 p er Ol iv er Stamper (1945) Joshua settled at Stroud's Station near Winch es te r, KY in 1779, where he died in 1825 ------- Will of Joshua Sta mp er of Clarke Co, KY (received Apr 2007 from Hettie (Da vid-Woodall) Seb ast ian, widow of Samuel Elihu Sebastian, Sr.)

In the name of God Amen. I, Joshua Stamper of the County of Clark e, a nd S tate of Kentucky, being weak and feeble of body but disposing mi nd a nd mem ory, do make and establish this my last will and testamen t: F ir st it is my will and desire that after my death, that my bo dy be bu ri ed in a decent and Christian like manner and that after a ll my just d eb ts are paid, I give and bequeath my estate both real and p ersonal in t he f ollowing manner; to wit;

Item; I give and bequeath to my daughter Rachel two cows and two fea th er b eds, five sheep and one horse worth eighty dollars, the w ho le to be of go od quality and the beds to have the furniture with the s ted s, the balan ce of my children having received heretofore the full amo un t. I therefo re will that my wife, Jinny Stamper have the use of the w ho le of my land d uring her lifetime and three cows, seven sheep,, two ho rse s, six hogs, t wo beds and ?? and furniture, one large plow, one smal l, o ne hoe and ax, a nd large one oven and pot, one dining table, six cha irs a ll to be of her o wn choice, the balance of my personal esta te to be so ld and be equally div ided amongst all my children, my son Ric hard Stamper ’s two children, Nan cy and Tommy to have one share, Polly Ar nett, Rach el Stamper, John Stampe r, Jonathan Stamper, Susan Gardiner, Na ncy Donle y. It is my will that a ll of my fore named children should ha ve an equ al share except my daught er Nancy Donley and if she should ev er conse nt to live with her husband, W illiam Donley, then in that case s he is n ot to have any of my estate mo re than she has heretofore receiv ed in my l ifetime and at the dea th of my wife, I will that the who le of my lan ds be sold and the balan ce of my personal estate also be so ld and divid ed to heretofore expresse d. Clarke County October Court 1825 This last will and testament of Josh ua St amper dec’d was produced in op en court and proven according to l aw ????Jo shua reportedly served in Revol utionary War. A Court Declarati on in 180 5, stated that Joshua was in Boone sborough in 1780, and resid ed at Strod es Station from 1780 to 1784. Josh ua settled at Stroud's Stat ion near Win chester, KY in 1779, where he di ed in 1825. Joshua married Jane 'Jennie' Woodward about 1778 in Bourbon Co, KY. Jane was born about 1760 in Bedford Co, VA and died after 1822 in Clark Co, KY. Another name for Jane was Jane 'Jennie' Woodruff.
