Information and Comments - Stephen Bowling page

The pictures you are looking at were taken on
Saturday, November 17, 2001 at the Bud Bowling Cemetery
located on the Stamper Fork of Canoe; Breathitt County, Ky.

(not an easy place to get to, I might add.....:-)

Markers were put in place for several of our Breathitt County
Stamper ancestors. Purchase of the markers were made by the Stamper Family Association,
Inc with funds received from the sale of the publication,
Eastern Kentucky Stamper Kin: Some Descendants of James, Jonathan and Joel Stamper.
Thanks to those that helped make this possible.... :-)

A 'big' thank you to our friend and cousin ... Stephen D Bowling for getting the markers
up the really rough terrain in his own vehicle; and putting the markers into their proper location.
During the afternoon, Stephen shared with us some of the history of burials and how some
of the traditions came into being. A VERY interesting day!!!
